I experimented with bolder colors on this one—dipping into a color palette I don’t normally use. I thought y’all might like seeing the original pencils in the inset, prior to inking and coloring in Procreate.
Some of my favorite Marvel stories are 80’s era Savage Land stories—whether Ka-Zar or the X-Men. I can only hope that Marvel Studios gives us a proper Savage Land film, sometime in the near future! I mean, c’mon, how cool would a movie with super-heroes AND dinosaurs be? And they need to have a party with tiki drinks!

This is an homage to the classic Marv Wolfman/George Perez run of the 1980s—still one of my favorite super-hero comic experiences! As much as I enjoy how comic books have grown up with me, I still have great nostalgia for the charm and innocence of pre-90s comics.
